Director/Senior Director, Site Selection CONFIDENTIAL

Job SummaryROLE PURPOSE
We are seeking a Senior Director, Site Selection to lead our site acquisition activities across Europe. This role will sit within the Strategy function, owning the end-to-end process for identifying, assessing, and securing sites for new data centres. You will define and implement market and acquisition strategies, lead technical due diligence, manage zoning and permitting, negotiate commercial contracts, and coordinate utility connections.

You will also oversee the assessment of greenfield, brownfield, operating data centres, and M&A opportunities, managing specialist teams in engineering, energy, real estate, and environmental fields to inform strategic decisions. ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a highly strategic position with significant influence across the business. You will collaborate with design, construction, legal, and finance teams to ensure technically sound delivery of data centres. You will promote best practice across the organisation and regularly report to senior leadership and investors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead, develop, and engage the Site Selection team.

Develop and execute near-term and multi-year site acquisition and market strategies.

Source and evaluate opportunities, leading technical due diligence.

Manage negotiations with landowners, local authorities, and utility providers, with particular focus on power availability.

Align power capacity with other critical site criteria such as fibre connectivity, infrastructure, and zoning.

Engage with local authorities on community and economic development matters.

Maintain ongoing liaison with internal stakeholders on acquisition progress, risks, and approvals.

Develop strategic relationships with utility providers to understand energy trends, clean energy availability, and connection timelines.

Provide hands-on leadership for projects and programs, tracking progress, risks, commercial, and financial metrics. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Real Estate, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Extensive experience in site acquisition, real estate, and engineering design/construction.

European market experience is essential. SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage stakeholders and work across functions and seniority levels.

Deep understanding of data centre markets, site acquisition processes, and financial drivers.

Knowledge of technical infrastructure requirements and sustainability considerations, including permitting and energy usage.

Experience working across multiple European countries with awareness of cultural nuances.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).Proactive, independent, and customer-focused with strong work ethic.

Fluent in English; business-level proficiency in a second European language is advantageous.
