Bubble Developer

Bubble.io Developer

  • Leicestershire Hybrid
  • Salary £38,000 - £42,000
  • Permanent
  • Some development roles are about maintaining someone else’s code. This one is about building something of your own.
  • We are working with an organisation that has invested heavily in Bubble to develop and support a growing portfolio of web applications.
  • They are now looking for a Bubble.io Developer to take ownership of that environment, shape what comes next and become the technical expert for all things Bubble and no code development.
  • This is a particularly unusual opportunity for an experienced Bubble developer.
  • You will have genuine ownership of the platform, the freedom to improve how applications are built and the opportunity to work on products that have a real impact on a large and engaged user base.

About The Role:

  • You will design, build, improve and maintain web applications using Bubble.io, working closely with product, design and business stakeholders to turn ideas and requirements into intuitive, scalable digital products.
  • You will be the go to person for Bubble across the organisation, bringing your technical expertise to everything from application architecture and complex workflows through to integrations, performance, security and ongoing development.

The role will involve:

  • Designing, building and deploying applications using Bubble.io
  • Creating complex workflows, database structures and user interfaces
  • Translating business requirements into practical, user friendly applications
  • Integrating APIs and third party services including payment, messaging and Google services
  • Developing responsive applications across desktop and mobile
  • Troubleshooting issues and improving application performance
  • Building secure applications with appropriate authentication, permissions and privacy controls
  • Working alongside product managers, designers and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
  • Testing applications and ensuring a high standard of quality before release
  • Maintaining and continually improving existing applications
  • Documenting application architecture, workflows and technical processes
  • Exploring new ways that no code and Bubble can be used to solve business problems
  • Most importantly, you will become the internal authority on Bubble.
  • When the business has a question about what is possible, how something should be built or how an application can be improved, you will be the person they turn to.

What we are looking for:

This role is genuinely specialist, so we are looking for someone who has hands on experience building applications with Bubble.io rather than someone who has simply used it as part of a wider technology stack.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications using Bubble.io
  • Excellent knowledge of Bubble workflows, databases and privacy rules
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and third party services
  • A strong understanding of responsive design and good UX principles
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms and web application architecture
  • Exposure to payment gateways, CRM systems or automation platforms
  • Strong problem solving skills and a methodical approach to development
  • The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your work
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS would be useful, particularly where it allows you to get more from Bubble and solve problems that sit beyond the platform itself.
  • Experience with Bubble plugins, plugin development, SEO, version control or Agile environments would also be valuable.
  • There is also an opportunity to explore AI integrations, including platforms such as OpenAI and Azure AI, so an interest in how emerging technology can be incorporated into no code applications would be a real advantage.

Why this role:

  • Bubble specialists are not easy to find. There are plenty of developers who can build applications, but far fewer people who can genuinely own and develop a Bubble environment.
  • This role gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.
  • You will have significant autonomy, direct influence over the future of the organisation's digital products and the chance to build applications that are used by real people at scale.
  • Rather than being one developer within a large engineering team, you will become the organisation's Bubble specialist. Your knowledge will directly shape the technology, the applications being delivered and how the wider business uses no code development.
  • For someone who enjoys solving problems, building things and being the person who knows how the technology really works, this is a genuinely interesting opportunity.
