Enterprise Architect Opportunity:

  • Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to play a key role in shaping and evolving the technology strategy across a diverse group of businesses.
  • Reporting directly to the Head of IT, this is a senior individual contributor role offering the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology decisions across multiple brands and legal entities.
  • The successful candidate will define and govern the Group's architecture strategy, establish standards and roadmaps, and ensure technology investments support both current and future business objectives.
  • This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working within a developing architecture function.
  • You'll be comfortable operating in a relatively greenfield environment, bringing structure, governance and strategic direction while remaining adaptable and pragmatic as the technology landscape continues to evolve.

The Role:

  • Operating across a complex multi-entity environment, you'll develop and maintain a holistic view of the Group's technology landscape rather than focusing on individual business units.
  • The business currently operates a number of different technology platforms, including multiple ERP solutions across its various brands.
  • You'll play an important role in developing the long-term architecture strategy, supporting future technology rationalisation and consolidation initiatives where appropriate, while ensuring technology decisions align with business priorities.
  • Alongside strategic planning, you'll provide architectural oversight across multiple concurrent projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, effective governance and reduced technology risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Group Enterprise Architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain a holistic view of technology architecture across multiple brands and business entities.
  • Define, implement and govern enterprise architecture standards, principles, policies and best practices.
  • Develop enterprise technology roadmaps across applications, infrastructure, integrations and cloud services.
  • Provide architectural leadership across multiple concurrent business and technology projects.
  • Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed architecture standards, milestones and timescales.
  • Identify delivery risks, dependencies and potential delays, proactively managing issues to support successful project outcomes.
  • Lead architecture governance, design reviews and technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain architecture risk and compliance plans, ensuring technology decisions minimise operational, security and business risk.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the Group's ERP landscape, including future consolidation initiatives where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders, providing strategic architectural guidance across the organisation.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions and business integration activities through technical due diligence, architecture assessments and integration planning.
  • Influence technology investment decisions through strategic planning and enterprise architecture expertise.

About You:

  • To be successful in this role, you'll be an experienced Enterprise Architect with a proven track record of operating across complex, multi-entity environments.

You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience within an Enterprise Architect or similar strategic architecture role.
  • Experience working across group structures with multiple business units, brands or legal entities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, governance and technology strategy.
  • Proven experience developing architecture standards, governance frameworks and enterprise technology roadmaps.
  • Experience working within complex ERP environments, ideally supporting multiple ERP platforms and future consolidation programmes.
  • Experience overseeing architectural input across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders, technical teams and third-party partners.
  • Strong understanding of technology risk, governance and compliance, with experience creating and maintaining architecture risk and compliance plans.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks, managing dependencies and mitigating issues before they impact delivery.
  • Broad technical knowledge spanning cloud technologies, infrastructure, integration, applications and security.
  • Previous experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations or carve-out programmes would be highly advantageous.
  • TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification would be desirable.

What's on Offer?

  • Our client is offering inviting all round package of salary together with a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise architecture within a growing, multi-entity business.
  • This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect to influence Group-wide technology strategy, establish architecture standards and governance, and support major transformation, ERP and M&A initiatives within a business investing in its technology landscape.
