We're exclusively recruiting on behalf of a successful and expanding privately owned technology business. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a close-knit leadership team in a broad, hands-on role that combines finance, operations and commercial responsibility.
This isn't a traditional finance position. You'll take ownership of the finance function whilst playing a key role in improving systems, strengthening controls and supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the day-to-day finance function whilst overseeing a wide range of business administration and operational processes.
The business is entering an exciting phase of growth, investing heavily in systems, processes and reporting. You'll play a central role in modernising the finance function, including helping to implement a new ERP platform and driving best practice across the organisation.
You'll also manage a small team and become a trusted member of the senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
- Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Produce insightful variance analysis and performance reporting
- Manage VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
- Monitor cash flow and forecasting
- Lead the year-end process and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain robust financial controls and reconciliations
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement across finance and administration
- Lead finance involvement in the implementation and optimisation of a new system
- Ensure integrity across finance, operational and contract data
- Strengthen reporting, controls and business processes
Commercial & Operations
- Oversee inventory control and stock accuracy
- Support purchasing and supplier management
- Maintain pricing structures and commercial data
- Coordinate tender submissions and contract administration
- Manage ISO accreditations and compliance activities
- Support HR administration, fleet management and wider business operations
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment where no two days are the same.
You'll likely be:
- AAT qualified, part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or qualified through experience
- Experienced in preparing full management accounts
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
- Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Highly organised with a proactive approach to improving processes
