Finance Operations Transformation Consultant

Finance Operations Transformation Consultant | 6-12 Month Contract | 5 Days On-Site | Day Rate Contractors

We are recruiting multiple roles to support a large-scale ERP transformation within a complex, multi-site operational environment.

This is a contract opportunity focused on operational finance testing and financial integrity validation during a major system implementation.

This is not a commercial finance or FP&A role.

The Role

You will play a critical role in running and challenging finance-led testing across end-to-end operational processes, ensuring the new ERP system accurately reflects real-world transactional activity before go-live.

You will be responsible for validating financial flows across:

  • Sales & revenue (store and online environments)
  • Stock & inventory movements
  • Cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Accounts Payable & supplier payments
  • Accounts Receivable & refunds
  • Payroll integrations
  • End-to-end P&L and balance sheet impact

This role requires strong accounting judgement and operational finance understanding - not just systems exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and challenge finance testing scripts
  • Analyse and validate journal postings
  • Confirm correct debit/credit flow through the ledger
  • Identify financial control gaps and escalate issues
  • Stress-test real-life operational scenarios
  • Review financial impact across P&L and balance sheet
  • Liaise with SMEs and project stakeholders
  • Retest fixes and validate system outputs

You must be comfortable challenging assumptions and pushing back where financial risk is identified.

Essential Experience Required

We are specifically looking for contractors with:

  • Proven ERP transformation experience (Oracle highly desirable)
  • Direct involvement in finance testing or system validation
  • Strong operational finance background
  • Experience within large, multi-site, high-volume environments
  • Deep understanding of P&L mechanics and debits/credits
  • Strong reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Pivot essential)
  • Ability to analyse large data sets
  • Experience identifying financial control risks

Highly desirable:

  • Audit background
  • Retail or high-volume transactional industry exposure
  • SQL experience

The Person

You will be:

  • A qualified or highly experienced accountant (QBE considered)
  • A self-starter with strong ownership mindset
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Assertive and confident in challenging stakeholders
  • Available to work 5 days on-site
  • Flexible to work additional hours during critical project phases

This is a delivery-focused contract role requiring resilience, accountability, and strong commercial awareness.
