The Role
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee and manage the finance function, ensuring the timely production of high-quality financial and management information. You will take the lead in cash flow forecasting, building financial models, and preparing management packs to present to the board. Your role will be pivotal in shaping financial strategy and driving the business forward during its continued expansion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cash Flow Forecasting: Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cash flow forecasts, ensuring that the business maintains sufficient liquidity for operations and growth
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to inform business decisions, provide insights, and support strategic planning
- Management Packs: Prepare and deliver comprehensive management packs, providing key financial insights to the board on a monthly basis
- Oversee the finance function, ensuring the efficient operation of financial processes and timely reporting
- Support the company's strategic investment raises, including debt and equity, by preparing financial data and analysis
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and management of working capital, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Identify, mitigate, and control financial risks, particularly those related to tax, trading activity, and external third-party agreements
- Liaise with UK auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Contribute to broader business operations as required, with a focus on scalability and efficiency
About You
We are looking for a proactive and strategic financial leader. You will have a solid track record of financial management, including forecasting, financial modelling, and the preparation of high-level management information for boards.
Key requirements:
- UK accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- Expertise in cash flow forecasting, financial modelling, and preparation of management packs
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Experience working with UK companies and understanding UK tax regulations
- Proven experience working with board-level management and presenting financial reports
- Experience managing remote or distributed finance teams
- Expertise in Xero accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work UK hours and travel occasionally to the UK for key meetings
