Senior HR Operations Manager / HR Analyst

* Could be based in Nottingham or London *  Macildowie are working with a client based in Nottingham to recruit a Senior People Operations Manager but this isn't your average People Ops role - it has a strong focus on governance, process optimisation, owning data integrity, systems, payroll and also reward and benefits - ensuring the People function operates efficiently and compliantly as the business scales.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, innovative organisation within the technology sector, offering a salary of £70,000 - £75,000 on a permanent basis. This is a newly created position as part of the company’s continued growth, sitting within a forward-thinking People function. Reporting into senior leadership, the role will take ownership of core People Operations activity, allowing senior stakeholders to focus on strategic delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and effective sign-off
  • Managing and improving HR systems, including ongoing implementation of a new HRIS
  • Driving automation across onboarding, JML processes, and workflows
  • Ensuring strong governance and controls aligned to audit requirements
  • Owning people data integrity and reporting within systems
  • Reviewing and enhancing processes across the employee lifecycle
  • Supporting reward and compensation activities, ensuring alignment and consistency
  • Leading and developing the People Operations team

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a strong background in People Operations within a structured, governance-led environment, within the tech sector
  • Demonstrate experience implementing and optimising HR systems (ideally at scale or globally)
  • Possess a solid understanding of payroll processes and oversight
  • Bring experience across reward and compensation frameworks
  • Have exposure to audit and compliance environments (SOC/ISO preferred)
  • Ideally have experience within a technology-led or fast-paced sector
