Site Reliability Engineer, Senior Associate
Our Engineering team at Macquarie plays a critical role in supporting the organisation’s data-driven decision-making. We design, maintain, and optimise data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and associated tools, enabling seamless data ingestion, storage, and querying across our platforms. The team works collaboratively with business users, developers, data engineers, and platform specialists to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that support the organisation’s strategic objectives. While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in the advertised location. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you join our dynamic Engineering team and help ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data platforms. You monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems that support vital data workflows, enabling smooth data movement and accessibility across the organisation. You work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve issues, automate processes, and enhance operational efficiency. You have the opportunity to contribute directly to our strategy and take ownership of diverse projects, utilising innovative technologies in a collaborative environment. What You Offer
- Demonstrated experience in supporting production environments, with a focus on data pipelines and cloud infrastructure
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, particularly for building and debugging data workflows
- Sound understanding of SQL for querying and managing databases and data lakes
- Experience working with cloud-based services, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix platforms and containerisation practices
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, with high attention to detail
- Experience with automation and deployment tools, including Infrastructure as Code solutions
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to documenting processes and sharing knowledge to support team development
