Interim Senior Employment Counsel

A leading tech and e-commerce company is looking to hire an interim Senior Employment Counsel

This role will report into the EMEA Employment Counsel based in Switzerland and indirectly to the Director of Employment based in the USA. This is an asap requirement looking to start in early January or before if timing permits.

In this role, the Senior Employment Counsel will provide strategic and practical employment law advice across the UK and EMEA region, partnering closely with HR and business leaders to ensure compliance and support commercial objectives. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on UK and EMEA employment law compliance, policies, and processes.
  • Partner with HR on employee relations, investigations, and risk management.
  • Monitor legislative changes and provide proactive, strategic guidance.
  • Draft and implement employment policies, templates, and training programs.
  • Manage outside counsel for disputes and administrative claims.
  • Deliver training to HR and managers on employment law and compliance.
  • Collaborate with global legal teams to improve processes and leverage technology.

What they are looking for

  • Fully qualified UK lawyer. 8 PQE minimum gained at a leading city firm and extensive in-house experience.
  • Significant experience in employment law (in-house experience preferred).
  • Strong ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
