Job summary

We have implemented a portfolio approach to business change and the Business Relationship Manager is integral to leading liaison and developing requirements from end users to be considered as part of strategic and tactical change initiatives. The Business Relationship Manager is a pivotal role within Group Informatics to support translation and analysis of requirements for change initiatives across the group's services. Aligning change requirements with the Trust's Digital Strategy and developing requirements to feed into demand planning.

Working across specific operational and clinical groups the Business Relationship Managers will represent Informatics and advocate for the hospital services who they serve.

Main duties of the job

Produce, high quality, professional advisory service to Group Informatics customers on all areas; directing queries appropriately, articulating the art of the possible, practical risks and business impact. Plan and organise a broad range of complex activities; formulates, adjusting plans or strategies as required. Formulate long- term strategic plans, involving uncertainty which may impact across the whole organisation.

Influence the development and management of the service and product lifecycle, ensuring that services are correctly marketed and launched to deliver maximum business value/impact and the pipeline of new services/products is managed and maintained to ensure that the business impact of legacy and retiring services is minimised. Propose policy or service changes, impact on own area and beyond own area; proposing changes to and redesigning service as required across the organisation. Maintain an acute awareness of strategic business change with the ability to work to consistently changing deadlines, priorities, stakeholders, and restrictions.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Master's degree level or equivalent & Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, management qualification or equivalent and experience
  • Evidence of Personal Development
Desirable
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in IT
  • Project/Programme Management & Change Qualification

  • Ability to travel between sites

Experience

Essential
  • In depth specialist knowledge and expertise across a range of disciplines including Demand Management and Project Management
  • Experience of working closely with executive directors and senior managers on complex time sensitive and confidential issues
  • Experience of problem solving, quickly identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Experience in staff management and knowledge of tools to best support staff in the workplace
  • Experience of managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders whilst dealing with politically sensitive issues.
Desirable
  • Experience in managing large projects within health or corporate function
  • Experience of Financial Management
  • Knowledge of NHS Technology policy and regional priorities
  • Knowledge of NHS agenda for change policies
