Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Portfolio Office Administrator to join the Digital Services Team at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).
We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated staff with a delivery focus who can align to our values and behaviors. You will be delivering exciting change initiatives, service improvements and defined projects across our portfolio of work, supporting the achievement of the MFT Digital Strategy and wider organisational strategies and digital aspirations. You will form part of a growing, motivated, and supportive team and will be well placed to develop your skills and knowledge.Main duties of the job
This is a busy and rewarding role in a team which supports the transformation of services through the utilisation of technology in accordance with trust-wide business requirements. Your application must be able to demonstrate that you have a sound understanding of business change, project and programme delivery, have strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills, advanced IT skills understanding and working knowledge of digital change initiatives and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
As part of our commitment to safeguarding patients and staff, many roles at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This is a standard process across the NHS and helps us ensure a safe environment for everyone.
What is a DBS Check?
A DBS check is a background check that reveals any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, or warnings. The level of check required depends on the role:
Standard DBS: Checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.
Enhanced DBS: Includes the above, plus any additional information held by local police thats considered relevant to the role.
Enhanced with Barred Lists: Includes all of the above, plus checks against the childrens and/or adults barred lists.
Who Needs a DBS Check
Most roles involving direct patient contact, working with children or vulnerable adults, or access to sensitive information will require a DBS check. The job advert and recruitment team will let you know if this applies to your role.
The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Higher National Certificate / Diploma or equivalent or relevant experience
- Higher National Certificate / Diploma or equivalent qualification in an IT related subject
Experience/Knowledge
- Demonstrable evidence of working within a complex organisational environment involving project / programme / portfolio / business support work (e.g., PMO/Business Office/OCIO)
- Experience of problem solving, quickly identifying and implementing solutions.
- Experience in financial processes for ordering and receipting
- Knowledge and experience of requirements in coordinating and administering governance meetings and formal reports or papers
- Fully competent in the use of MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, MS Teams
- Knowledge or experience in developing standard operating procedures to support business functions
- Knowledge of NHS Technology policy and regional priorities
- Administrator experience in SharePoint
