Junior IT Technicians will have responsibility for ensuring that IT technical support is provided to appropriate levels of customer service in line with corporate Service Level Agreements.

Main duties of the job

As a Junior Digital Support Technician - Asset Management, you will play a key role in supporting the Trust's digital infrastructure by ensuring the effective management, tracking, and lifecycle maintenance of IT assets. Working within the Digital Services Directorate under the Technology - Digital Operations department, you will assist the Asset and Procurement Team in maintaining a robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB), coordinating asset deliveries and installations, and ensuring compliance with procurement and financial policies.

You will be responsible for logging and resolving incidents and service requests, supporting hardware and software deployments, and contributing to the upkeep of accurate asset records. The role involves close collaboration with Digital Support Technicians, Application Support teams, and external suppliers, and requires a proactive, customer-focused approach to service delivery.

This position is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of IT infrastructure support, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in digital operations. The role may involve travel across Trust sites and participation in out-of-hours support when required.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Evidence of Personal Development
Desirable
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in an IT related subject

Experience/Knowledge

Essential
  • Understanding of working in an Infrastructure support role
  • Experience in providing support within the PC Client Environment; including PC hardware; operating systems; printers; other peripherals; associated software Packages
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Internet / Intranet concepts
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience in using Configuration Management tools including remote support
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Best Practice
