Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has ambitious plans to transform healthcare in North Manchester through the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) Redevelopment Programme which will deliver a new hospital and health campus at the existing North Manchester General Hospital site. This major investment will support the transformation of how we deliver our services and create modern facilities that support world-class clinical care for our communities. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest public sector health transformation programmes being delivered across Manchester.

The NMGH New Hospital Project Data Strategy & Analytics Lead will be responsible for developing and executing a hospital-wide data strategy that enables evidence-based decision-making, improves operational efficiency, and enhances patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The NMGH New Hospital Project Data Strategy & Analytics Lead will lead the design and implementation of advanced analytics, data governance frameworks, and business intelligence solutions to support clinical, financial, and administrative functions.The role will ensure alignment to the overarching MFT Data Strategy and link directly back to the Director of Data and Analytics to ensure continued compatibility with Trust wide data and analytics initiatives.

The role will establish and oversee data governance policies, standards, and procedures relating while ensuring alignment to wider Trust Policy. The role will ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and identify and lead pilots to improve data quality and accessibility as part of the NMGH Redevelopment and across the wider Trust.

They role will evaluate modern data platforms to determine what is required for the Project against what is currently available within MFT, including cloud-based solutions and AI/ML capabilities while staying abreast of emerging trends in healthcare analytics and digital transformation.

The post holder will provide expert technical support to stakeholders on NHS data standards and guidance working closely with project stakeholders to ensure the timely development and review of key products.

Essential
  • Degree in Data Science, Health Informatics, Computer Science or related field
  • Master's degree in data science, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent level of experience with Informatics
  • Proven experience of data and analytics transformation and delivery on large Public sector programmes
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in data strategy, analytics, or business intelligence, preferably in healthcare
  • Proven Experience in the evaluation of modern data platforms including cloud-based solutions and AI/ML capabilities
  • Proven experience in supplier market engagement to articulate financial costs and benefits
