Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Analyst within the UK's largest and most diverse Trust. The role focuses on developing Business Intelligence solutions to the various Clinical Groups across the Trust and providing in depth analysis to support service improvement initiatives
You will join a dynamic team delivering health intelligence using advanced analytical and statistical techniques, working with tools such as SQL Server, Databricks and Power BI. You will produce clear, impactful insights to inform decision-making and strategy, translating complex data into accessible information for stakeholders.
Strong data communication and visualisation skills are essential to help build a shared understanding of the health and care landscape. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to drive improvement, innovation and positive change across the Trust in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
The assessment process for this role includes Sphinx testing which an aptitude assessment designed to evaluate critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will:
work closely with the Corporate and Operational teams to provide analytical support to determine future pressures against key deliverables, particularly in relation to the NHS plan and locally commissioned targets.
engage in the analytical work within the Trust to assess capacity and demand for each clinical service, identifying areas of service pressure, undertaking gap analysis and support the production of option appraisals.
provide detailed analysis in order to model demand, resources and throughput to ensure appropriate balance of provision and to identify variances between supply and demand to facilitate discussions of service change, provision or development.
assist the Trust to interpret the available data and provide a judgement on actual performance and the ability to deliver operational plans, using predictive modelling techniques.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent or relevant experience
- Evidence of Personal Development
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an IT related subject
- Management Qualification
Experience / Knowledge
- Ability to communicate a range of Informatics issues which can be complex and multi-stranded
- Ability to make judgements on multi-stranded or complex Informatics problems which may have no precedent or where there are conflicting opinions
- Ability to plan and organise broad range of complex activities, formulate and adjust plans which impact beyond own area
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop staff
- Collaborative approach and good team working
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
