Business Analyst
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organisation. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, you will play a key role within the Programmes team, helping the business identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, understanding how a business operates and turning business requirements into practical solutions that improve efficiency, quality and overall performance.
The Role
As Business Analyst, you will work across engineering, operations, programmes, finance, IT and other supporting functions to understand business challenges and help deliver meaningful improvements.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with stakeholders to understand business challenges, objectives and requirements.
- Analysing existing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Gathering, documenting and validating business and functional requirements.
- Interrogating business systems to produce meaningful reports, dashboards and insights.
- Creating process maps, business cases and supporting documentation.
- Working collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams to design effective solutions.
- Supporting business change projects from initial concept through to implementation.
- Facilitating workshops, meetings and stakeholder review sessions.
- Monitoring project progress, risks and dependencies and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training and implementation activities.
- Analysing business data to provide insight and support informed decision-making.
- Promoting continuous improvement and best practice across the organisation.
About You
We're looking for a Business Analyst with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who is comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical/business improvement role.
- Experience gathering, documenting and validating business requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to analyse data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Experience mapping business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or defence environment.
- Experience working with ERP, MRP or other enterprise business systems.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Experience with Power BI, Visio, Jira or similar business analysis/process mapping tools.
- Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
- A recognised Business Analysis qualification such as BCS or IIBA.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the organisation's work, successful candidates will need to be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
As part of the clearance process, you will be required to provide evidence of your identity, employment history and right to work in the UK, together with evidence of at least five years' UK residency.
