Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer – Up to £90,000

📍 Location: Hereford | 🖥 On-site | 🔒 DV Clearance Required

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to support and enhance our data platforms in a highly secure environment. This role is critical in ensuring our Linux-based data stack remains scalable, resilient, and secure by design. Offering a salary of up to £90,000, this position provides the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects within a leading technology consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update security, software, dependencies, and libraries.
• Develop and manage a Kubernetes stack aligned with Secure by Design (SBD) requirements.
• Set up, optimise, and migrate Spark clusters across platforms.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and identity provider (IdP) systems.
• Maintain Delta Lake to ensure reliable and high-performance data access.
• Support Secure by Design assurance, working closely with security and accreditation teams.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date platform documentation.

Core Skills & Experience

• Strong background in Linux engineering.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience managing air-gapped networks and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Solid understanding of security, encryption, and compliance standards.
