System engineer (Hertfordshire)

Salary: Up to £58,000, depending on experience
Working Pattern: Hybrid - typically 3 days on-site per week due to project requirements

The Opportunity:
Navigation sensors are key to next-generation Defence systems, and this team works on high-profile, fast-paced programmes with international collaboration. You'll work on the specification, evaluation, and research of technologies such as:
- GNSS receivers and multi-constellation systems
- Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs)
- Anti-jam units and Controlled Reception Pattern Antennas (CRPAs)
You'll also:
- Monitor supplier developments and tech roadmaps
- Support trials and performance assessments
- Contribute to international research and development programmes

What We're Looking For:
- A degree-qualified engineer or physicist (electronics, physics or similar)
- Experience in defence, aerospace, or a related sector
- Strong knowledge of navigation, avionics, or RF engineering
- Desirable: Project delivery or commercial exposure
- Useful: Modelling skills in MATLAB and/or Simulink
Additional Knowledge (Desirable):
- GNSS systems, multi-constellation functionality, and integration
- Receivers, anti-jam technologies, and CRPAs
- GNSS system chain performance challenges
