Role Overview

The client is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to support, maintain, and enhance advanced automated warehouse systems across the UK. You’ll play a key role in keeping mission‐critical automation equipment running smoothly, performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting system installations and commissioning projects.

This is a fully remote role with regular travel to customer sites across Southern England (ideally within 50 miles of Oxford: Reading, Swindon, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Coventry, Gloucester, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduled maintenance on automated warehouse systems following established manuals and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting & repairs of electrical, mechanical, and software‐related issues.
  • Component replacement using detailed service processes.
  • Service documentation including visit reports, TODs, and updates for internal teams.
  • Customer relationship management by highlighting preventive maintenance value and ensuring transparency.
  • Spare parts management for service vans, customer sites, and internal stock.
  • Participation in system installations, expansions, and commissioning projects.

Required Competencies

  • 2+ years’ experience in automation, robotics, conveyor systems, or similar technical fields.
  • Strong electrical fault‐finding skills and ability to read schematics.
  • Solid mechanical competence (assembly, maintenance, system understanding).
  • Remote troubleshooting capability using provided software tools.
  • Preferred certifications: MEWP 3A/3B, FLT (reach/counterbalance).
  • Experience with RAMS and ability to edit/amend documentation.
  • Tech‐savvy and comfortable learning proprietary software.
  • Fully IT/PC literate.
