Head of Tax & Treasury

We are partnering with a large, market-leading technology business that has recently transitioned from PLC to Private Equity ownership. Backed by a highly regarded PE sponsor, the business is entering a new phase of ambitious growth, transformation, and value creation.

As part of this next chapter, the company is seeking an experienced H ead of Tax & Treasury to take ownership of group tax strategy while overseeing treasury activities. This is a senior, high-impact role offering significant exposure to executive leadership and PE stakeholders.

While a blend of tax and treasury experience is desirable, the role is deliberately weighted towards tax, making it ideal for a senior tax professional looking to broaden or leverage their treasury exposure in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax:

  • Lead and own the group's UK and international tax strategy across corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes, and transfer pricing
  • Ensure robust tax governance, compliance, and risk management in a PE-backed environment
  • Act as the principal adviser to the Board, CFO, and PE sponsor on all tax matters, including structuring, M&A, and post-deal integration
  • Manage relationships with HMRC and external advisers
  • Drive tax efficiency initiatives aligned with growth plans and value creation objectives

Treasury:

  • Oversee group treasury operations, including cash management, forecasting, and liquidity planning
  • Support financing structures and covenant compliance, working closely with lenders and advisors
  • Contribute to capital structure optimisation and funding strategies as the business grows

Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and Commercial leaders across the group
  • Operate effectively in a PE-backed governance model, supporting reporting and decision-making at pace

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong tax background gained in a large corporate, professional services firm, or Big 4 / Top 10 advisory environment
  • Demonstrable experience leading complex tax matters in the UK, with exposure to international considerations
  • Working knowledge of treasury principles and operations; deep treasury specialism beneficial but not essential
  • Experience operating in or alongside PE-backed businesses and/or PLC environments is highly attractive (not essential)
  • Commercial, pragmatic, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, change-oriented setting
  • Confident senior stakeholder manager, able to influence at Board and investor level
  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred

What's on Offer:

  • Senior leadership role in a high-growth, PE-backed market leader
  • Significant autonomy and influence over tax strategy and broader financial decision-making
  • Flexible working model: fully remote working available with an option to work in the London office
  • Competitive salary, executive-level bonus, and long-term incentive potential
  • The opportunity to shape and scale a best-in-class tax function during a period of transformation
