Senior Accountant

Marc Daniels are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for an established, growing technology business in central Brighton.

The role

This is a hands-on financial accounting role reporting to the Head of Finance. You'll own month-end, the statutory accounts and tax. The role gives you clear progression routes and good exposure to the leadership team.

What you'll be doing

• Owning the month-end close and producing accurate, timely monthly management accounts
• Preparing the year-end statutory accounts
• Preparing tax returns, including VAT
• Making sure the business stays on top of VAT and statutory compliance
• Maintaining the fixed and intangible asset registers
• Running the annual audit and acting as the main contact for the external auditors
• Supporting the Head of Finance with budgeting and forecasting
• Managing and forecasting cash flow
• Reviewing finance processes and controls and driving improvements
• Working closely with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the business

Desirables

• ACCA or ICAEW (ACA) qualified
• Two or more years of post-qualification experience
• Strong financial accounting and technical ability, with a solid grasp of financial controls
• Experience owning month-end and preparing statutory accounts
• Exposure to tax returns and audit
• Confident working on your own initiative
• A process improvement mindset
• Able to be in the Brighton office three days a week
