Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled E-FICC, Technical Operations to join our global banking technology/trade floor team, supporting Fixed Income trading and risk platforms. This role is critical in supporting our trading desks across Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities, ensuring the smooth operation of a mixture of vendor systems and our proprietary order routing systems and associated trading infrastructure.

This is a new role and requires building from the ground up, building and supporting, and identifying FICC issues and advising how these can be rectified and supported.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical acumen, a deep understanding of Fixed Income products, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end production support for Fixed Income trading platforms (Rates, Credit, FX, Bonds, Derivatives).
  • Monitor and maintain system health, ensuring high availability and low latency of critical trading applications.
  • Support and enhance monitoring capabilities using ITRS Geneos, initially within FICC and expanding to other asset classes.
  • Create monitoring capabilities and enhancements to forestall future enhancements.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve Real Time production issues, working closely with traders, developers, and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure continuous system stability and performance across all FICC trading platforms, supporting both traders and institutional clients.
  • Serve as the local subject matter expert for EMEA FICC trading infrastructure, owning the life cycle of proprietary systems and vendor applications-including product releases, upgrades, and ongoing support.
  • Support release management, change control, and environment management processes across production and non-production environments.
  • Collaborate with development and the trade floor teams to drive automation, monitoring, and process improvements to reduce manual intervention.
  • Provide technical expertise on connectivity, data flows, and integration points between trading, pricing, and risk systems.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and resilience testing.
  • Support global follow-the-Sun coverage and participate in on-call rotation as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Tech Ops Support role within an investment bank or financial institution.
  • Solid experience with Unix/Linux, SQL, and at least one Scripting language (Python, Shell, or Perl).
  • Understanding of trade life cycle, market data flows, and risk management processes.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and practices (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with trading desks, business analysts, and development teams.
  • Understanding of the configuration structure across the FICC e-trading ecosystem is mandatory.

Contract - 12 months +

Day rate circa £900 -£1000 + (Inside IR35)
