Clinical Coder

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and efficient Clinical Coder to join our Practice and team.

A background in a similar role in a healthcare setting (Primary or Secondary Care) is essential. The role entails the triaging of incoming clinical correspondence to determine whether GP input is required, so it is important that prospective candidates feel confident to undertake this. A very good understanding of medical terminology is required, together with first class communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have excellent IT skills, be able to manage their workload to a high standard, be enthusiastic, and a team player who is able to use their initiative. You will process incoming documents, match them in EMIS and code them. You will then complete any onward actions required (such as sending a task to the usual GP). A keen attention to detail is critical.

This role can offer some working from home for someone who is already trained in EMIS and clinical coding.
