Head of Legal

I've been retained on a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative Tech Scale Up who are very much revolutionising access to company data. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented Head of Legal to play a key role in advising the business on their corporate governance, acquisitions and other strategic challenges they have as they continue to grow. This will be a strategic and hands on role where you will truly see the impact of your work on an international scale.

The Role:

• Act a key member of the leadership team, providing trusted counsel to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership, ensuring their legal framework supports the long-term strategy and growth
• Advise the executive team on risk, compliance, and corporate governance
• Oversee data protection, ensuring proportionate privacy governance in collaboration with other departments.
• Lead a small legal team, both in the UK and in the US
• Work closely with other stakeholders and teams of the business
• Manage external counsel spend according the the budget provided

Prior Experience:

• 7+ years PQE England and Wales Qualified Lawyer
• Corporate trained Lawyer with fantastic knowledge of Corporate Governance
• Currently working or has experience working within a Start Up, Scale Up or Fintech is a must
• Private Practice & In-House experience would be a plus
• CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT (IAPP) certification(s) preferred.
