A leading investment firm is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager on a 6-month contract to deliver a high-profile legal systems programme. The role will focus on implementing a new eBilling and spend management system, ensuring process change, smooth integration with wider business systems, and effective adoption across the organisation. In addition, the Project Manager will support further legal and compliance systems initiatives as part of a wider transformation agenda.
This position is suited to a hands-on, delivery-focused professional with strong experience in regulated environments and exposure to Legal, Compliance, Risk, or Finance domains.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a new legal eBilling and spend management platform, from mobilisation through to go-live
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and Procurement, as well as third-party vendors
- Build and maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, RAID logs, and status reporting in line with programme governance standards
- Facilitate requirements gathering, workshops, and testing phases to ensure successful implementation and user adoption
- Manage onboarding of external legal service providers and align billing practices to the new platform
- Oversee system integration with enterprise applications (e.g. finance/ERP systems) to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency
- Drive change management activities, including user communications, training, and embedding of new processes
What we are looking for in the candidate
- Proven background as a Project Manager delivering systems change in regulated sectors (financial services, asset management, insurance, or banking)
- Strong track record in legal or compliance systems projects (e.g. eBilling, matter management, governance/risk systems, KYC platforms)
- Skilled in managing SaaS vendor delivery alongside internal IT and operational business teams
- Practical knowledge of legal spend management and billing processes, ideally involving external counsel arrangements
- (Desirable) Previous experience within private markets or alternative asset management environments
- (Desirable) Familiarity with legal vendor technology platforms (e.g. Brightflag, Simple Legal, Legal Tracker) and integration with finance systems such as Coupa or Oracle.
