SAP PaPM Consultant

Overview We’re seeking an experienced SAP PaPM Lead to design, deliver and stabilize PaPM-based allocation, simulation and reporting solutions for a large finance organisation. You’ll translate complex financial requirements into robust PaPM models and integrations, own technical design decisions, and drive performance improvements and post-go-live support.

Key responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end PaPM solution design and delivery, ensuring scalability, stability and clear auditability.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture, modelling and calculation logic that supports financial planning, allocations and reporting.
  • Lead integration design with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP HANA and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
  • Define and implement performance optimisation and tuning for large datasets and complex calculations.
  • Lead testing, deployment and go‐live; provide post-go‐live support and continuous improvement to meet business KPIs.
  • Manage stakeholders and coordinate small cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and adoption.
  • Produce technical documentation and deliver end‐user training.

Must-have experience & skills

  • 7+ years SAP experience with 2–3+ full lifecycle SAP PaPM implementations; proven track record as Lead Consultant or Solution Owner.
  • Deep functional and technical mastery of SAP PaPM modelling (Environment, Functions, Views) and calculation functions (joins, allocations, derivations, transfer structures).
  • Strong capability to design and develop complex calculations/simulations on large datasets and apply performance tuning approaches.
  • Experience with PaPM data management (import/export, data sources) and integrations to S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, HANA and cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Good grounding in SAP Financial & Controlling processes.
  • Proficiency in HANA modelling and SQL scripting.

Nice-to-have

  • PaPM role/security knowledge.
  • SAP Analytics Cloud (planning/analytics models, stories) and SAP BTP development (UI5/JavaScript, CAP, Launchpad, OData).
  • Familiarity with FS‐PER, BPC, CO‐PA, Datasphere or Power BI/Azure.
  • Multiple full lifecycle SAP project experience.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance or related field.
  • SAP PaPM certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
