SAP Release Manager – S/4HANA Transformation
Location: UK (London, Slough) | US
As part of Mars’ ongoing transformation, we’re launching an enterprise-wide S/4HANA program across Petcare, Snacking, Food, and Corporate segments. This is more than a system upgrade—it’s a business-led digital transformation, focused on simplifying and harmonizing processes across eight core areas including Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, HR, R&D, and Marketing.
To support this, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative SAP Release Manager to oversee release planning, coordination, and governance across multiple S/4HANA landscapes. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth, synchronized delivery of changes from development through to production.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Champion and apply Mars’ Five Principles across all interactions.
- Own and maintain the SAP release calendar, aligned with program milestones.
- Develop and implement inclusive, effective release governance processes.
- Coordinate transport activity across multiple teams, environments, and S/4HANA instances.
- Collaborate with Mars teams, system integrators, and technical leads to ensure proper sequencing, quality, and compliance.
- Lead release readiness and cutover planning.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, providing updates to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure all release activities follow change management and audit protocols.
- Continuously improve release processes and tools for better efficiency and visibility.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years of SAP release or deployment management experience in large-scale programs.
- Deep understanding of SAP transport and change control in complex, multi-system environments.
- Familiarity with tools like SAP CALM, ActiveControl, and other release automation solutions.
- Strong communication, coordination, and risk management skills.
- Inclusive leadership mindset and a passion for working across diverse teams.
- Experience working with system integrators, business teams, and external partners.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, with a proactive and structured approach.
