Head of Legal
We’ve been exclusively instructed on a Head of Legal role with a PE-backed healthcare technology business. It’s a passion with purpose business, operating internationally across clinical diagnostics and software-led services.
They work closely with regulated customers and public sector frameworks, and while mission-led, they are equally commercial in how they think and operate.
This is a senior, high-impact hire sitting on the EMEA leadership team — not a back-seat legal role. You’ll be right at the centre of the business.
The Role
- Go-to legal and commercial advisor to senior leadership
- Managing a very small team – hands-on, collaborative, sleeves rolled up
- Leading on complex commercial deals across customers, suppliers and partners
- Driving improvements in contracting, processes and overall ways of working
- Owning data protection and governance strategy (UK/EU GDPR)
- Influencing commercial decisions, pricing and supplier strategy
- Overseeing disputes, external counsel and key risk areas
- Playing a role in AI / tech risk and broader business initiatives
Skills Required
- 15+ years’ PQE
- Strong commercial / technology lawyer
- Significant in-house experience in an international / matrix environment
- Comfortable being hands-on as well as strategic
- Experience managing complex, messy contracting environments
- Strong stakeholder management – able to influence without authority
Desirable
- Exposure to regulated sectors / public procurement (e.g. NHS / frameworks)
- Experience in growing or improving legal functions
- Interest in AI, data or emerging tech
- M&A / integration exposure
