Location: Knutsford or Manchester (Hybrid)

Contract: Permanent

About the opportunity

We’re working with a leading global banking organisation to recruit a CMDB Product Manager to join their IT Service Management function at Vice President level.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll own and evolve the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) as a critical enterprise platform, underpinning operational stability, automation, risk management, and regulatory compliance across the bank.

You’ll act as the strategic product owner for CMDB, driving standards, data quality, and adoption across a complex technology landscape, while leading delivery through agile, cross-functional squads and vendor partners.

The role

As CMDB Product Manager, you will:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of the enterprise CMDB, aligned to business objectives and regulatory expectations
  • Drive CSDM alignment, ServiceNow CMDB design, and policy governance across the organisation
  • Ensure high data quality, integrity, and trust, including critical data elements, lineage, attestations, and automated compliance reporting
  • Work closely with Technology, Architecture, ITOM, Change, Security, and Risk teams to ensure CMDB enables effective decision-making and automation
  • Define and track KPIs and OKRs, publishing management information to support senior stakeholders
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and mitigating risk and control issues related to configuration data
  • Communicate and embed CMDB standards and process changes across a large, federated IT estate

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to speak to candidates who bring strong product ownership experience and deep technical expertise in CMDB and data governance.

Essential experience:

  • Deep ServiceNow CMDB expertise, including CSDM, ITOM Discovery, and IRE policy design
  • Proven Agile Product Ownership experience (OKRs, backlog management, release planning)
  • Strong background in data governance and data quality management, ideally in a regulated environment
  • Experience working across large, complex technology organisations with multiple stakeholders

Desirable experience:

  • Integration of CMDB with ITAM / HAM / SAM
  • Exposure to Change Management, Vulnerability Management, or IAM
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture, Technology Reference Models, and role-based access controls
