Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Manager to lead the management, optimisation, and strategic development of our business-critical applications landscape, with a strong focus on SAP systems. This is a key role responsible for ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement across enterprise applications while aligning IT services with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, with a primary focus on SAP (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, ECC, or related modules)
- Lead application support, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Manage third-party vendors, service providers, and system integrators
- Drive continuous improvement, system optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives
- Ensure system performance, availability, and security standards are met
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes
- Lead and develop a team of application specialists and analysts
- Support project delivery, including implementations, migrations, and integrations
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Applications Manager, Application Lead, or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP systems (e.g. SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, or S/4HANA)
- Solid understanding of application lifecycle management and IT service management (ITIL preferred)
- Experience managing vendors and external partners
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with system integrations, APIs, and enterprise architecture is highly desirable
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Previous experience in large-scale transformation or ERP programmes
