Freelance Integration Engineer - Snowflake & Fivetran

Masentó are looking for an Integration Engineer with strong Fivetran and Snowflake experience to support a major data integration modernisation programme at a leading global retailer.

The organisation is migrating away from Mulesoft and transitioning to a modern integration stack centred on Fivetran and Snowflake. You will play a key role in designing, building, and migrating data integrations, ensuring a reliable and scalable pipeline architecture across the business.

This is a hands-on contract role for someone who knows the modern data stack well and can hit the ground running in a fast-moving programme environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build data integration pipelines using Fivetran, connecting source systems to Snowflake
• Support and lead the migration of existing Mulesoft integrations to the Fivetran-based architecture
• Configure and manage Fivetran connectors across a range of source systems (SaaS, databases, APIs)
• Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure clean, reliable data landing in Snowflake
• Apply dbt for transformation of ingested data within the Snowflake environment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise integration pipelines for performance and reliability
• Document integration architecture and maintain data lineage across the pipeline estate
• Collaborate with data, engineering, and business stakeholders across the programme

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on Fivetran experience: connector configuration, pipeline management, and troubleshooting
• Strong Snowflake experience: understanding of how data lands, is structured, and is consumed
• Experience with dbt for data transformation within a Snowflake environment
• Understanding of modern ELT architecture and data pipeline design principles
• Azure data stack familiarity: ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, or Synapse
• Experience migrating or replacing Legacy integration platforms (Mulesoft, Informatica, SSIS, or similar)
• Strong SQL skills
• Ability to work across technical and business stakeholders in a programme environment
• Python Scripting for automation or custom connector development

Nice to Have

Direct Mulesoft experience: understanding the existing landscape being replaced is a significant advantage

Experience with Census or similar reverse ETL tooling

Familiarity with event-driven integration patterns (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs)

Retail or E-commerce domain experience
