Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £90,000 – £110,000 + 20% bonus

About the Role
Seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and evolve the technology function within a growing insurance business. This role will have direct responsibility for Salesforce development alongside oversight of the broader engineering landscape, including cloud platforms across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft technologies.
You will play a critical role in shaping technical strategy, leading high-performing engineering teams, and ensuring that technology solutions align with business goals across underwriting, sales, operations, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams across Salesforce and core platform engineering
- Own the delivery, optimisation, and governance of Salesforce solutions supporting sales, distribution, and customer operations
- Oversee the wider engineering ecosystem, including services and infrastructure across GCP and Microsoft platforms (e.g. Azure, M365, .NET)
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business to translate strategic objectives into technical roadmap
- Ensure engineering best practices across architecture, security, scalability, and performance
- Drive agile delivery, continuous improvement, and high-quality engineering standards
- Manage third-party vendors and delivery partners where required
- Contribute to technology strategy, budgeting, and long-term platform decisions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, data protection, and security requirements relevant to the insurance sector
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, or similar leadership role
- Strong background in Salesforce development and delivery (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, integrations, and customisation)
- Experience overseeing cloud-based platforms, ideally across GCP and Microsoft technologies
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and balance hands-on technical understanding with people leadership
- Experience working in regulated environments (insurance or financial services desirable)
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
