Platform Engineer- Security Cleared Eligible

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support a large-scale Legacy Platform Rationalisation and Data Enablement programme . The role will focus on infrastructure as code (Terraform), platform integration, and enabling data migration from legacy estates to modern target platforms such as NDIT and Palantir Foundry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform to support data platforms and integrations
  • Implement reusable, secure, and scalable IaC modules for environment provisioning across multiple estates
  • Support platform connectivity and integration between legacy platforms (DPS, DAE, SQL, CDP) and NDIT/FDP
  • Enable data migration and orchestration pipelines, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity
  • Support controlled decommissioning of legacy infrastructure and services
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure and platform deployments
  • Ensure compliance with governance, and IG standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Platform / Data Platform Engineering experience
  • Hands-on expertise with Terraform (IaC design, modularisation, environments, state management)
  • Cloud experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
  • Experience with Databricks/Spark, SQL Server, and data orchestration tools
  • CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Azure DevOps) and scripting (Python/Bash)
  • Experience in legacy modernisation or platform migration programmes

Desirable

  • Exposure to Palantir Foundry
  • NHS / Public Sector experience
  • Experience with platform decommissioning and cost optimisation

Security Clearance

  • Active UK SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC
