Role Context

The role supports the delivery of critical business and digital change within a regulated environment. The Product Analyst operates across business and technology domains, contributing to product and programme outcomes by translating business needs into effective solutions aligned with organisational and regulatory objectives.

Job Summary

The Product Analyst plays a key role in delivering value across product features and initiatives by combining business analysis, product thinking, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires strong analytical capability, pragmatic use of tools and techniques, and the ability to operate effectively in both structured and fast-paced change environments.

The individual will demonstrate the ability to adapt approaches based on context, assure the quality of requirements, and ensure that delivered solutions are fit for purpose while maintaining a user-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a range of business analysis techniques and best practice approaches, selecting and adapting methods pragmatically based on project needs.
  • Manage end-to-end requirements lifecycle including elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, and traceability.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, SMEs, sponsors, and delivery teams to define and refine product features and requirements.
  • Produce high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting artefacts.
  • Use tools such as JIRA to manage backlog items, track delivery progress, and support prioritisation.
  • Assure that business requirements are accurately translated into solutions that meet business and user needs.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure effective engagement across all levels including business, technology, and suppliers.
  • Facilitate workshops, discussions, and reviews to drive clarity and alignment on requirements and outcomes.
  • Analyse data, user behaviour, and feedback to inform product decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Operate effectively across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Support delivery across large-scale project or programme environments involving business and IT change.
  • Develop domain understanding quickly to engage credibly with stakeholders and contribute to problem definition.
  • Constructively challenge assumptions and identify opportunities for innovative or improved solutions.
  • Communicate insights, requirements, and recommendations clearly using strong written and verbal skills.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in roles such as Product Analyst, Product Owner/Analyst, Business Analyst, or Management Consultant.
  • Proven experience in complex project or programme environments involving business and IT change.
  • Experience in sectors such as financial services, government/regulatory organisations, technology, or consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience working with JIRA for backlog and delivery management.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs at pace in both structured and dynamic environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability with ability to challenge constructively.
  • Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working across full project lifecycles in Agile and Waterfall environments.

Desirable

  • Experience in regulated environments such as financial services or government.
  • Exposure to consulting or advisory roles.
  • Knowledge of GDS or similar delivery frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related discipline.
  • BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (or equivalent) or working towards certification.
  • Demonstrates a user-focused, pragmatic, and delivery-oriented mindset.
