📍 Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite (Croydon) + occasional travel
🔎 Clearance Required: SC & NPPV3
Mastek UK is hiring a Security Operations (SecOps) Engineer to support one of the UK’s most secure and technically complex government cloud programmes . This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high‑assurance public sector environment , contributing to national‑scale, mission‑critical services.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintain and update Security Operating Procedures (SyOps) and information security policies
- Review designs, technical documentation, and implementation plans for security compliance
- Conduct threat modelling and security risk assessments
- Provide assurance over patching, releases, and change activities
- Perform and review vulnerability scans and remediation plans
- Investigate and manage security incidents , ensuring clear reporting and follow‑up
- Create and track ITHC Remediation Action Plans
- Support cryptographic controls and certificate management
- Review access requests and support Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes
- Promote a strong security awareness culture across delivery teams
âś… Essential Experience
- 5+ years in SecOps, Information Security, or Security Consulting roles
- Strong knowledge of Home Office security policies, governance & GSC framework
- Experience in secure government cloud or digital transformation programmes
- Hands‑on experience with incident investigation and vulnerability management
- British citizen eligible for SC & NPPV3 clearance
- Excellent communication skills (technical & non‑technical stakeholders)
- Willingness to travel within the UK (Croydon / Birmingham as needed)
🌟 Desirable Skills
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, ISO 27001)
- Experience with CNI or high‑assurance programmes
- Cloud security & accreditation knowledge
- GDPR and regulatory compliance awareness
- Agile tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
- Experience contributing to government bid responses / presales security
