IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our digital transformation, working across a wide range of technologies to support, develop, and secure our IT systems. You'll collaborate with teams across the business to ensure our infrastructure is robust, efficient, and aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain core infrastructure including networks, virtual servers, and on-prem/cloud environments (O365, Azure, Entra)

  • Monitor and support endpoint and server software, adhering to approved processes and licensing

  • Support our ERP (COINS) and internal software systems

  • Act as an escalation point for helpdesk tickets and drive service improvements

  • Lead and contribute to IT projects, both planned and ad hoc

  • Improve our IT security posture, aligning with standards like Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation and technical playbooks

  • Identify opportunities for digital and process improvements

  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning

  • Automate system tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell and Power Automate



What You'll Bring

  • At least 5 years' experience in IT, including service desk and infrastructure roles

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments - including O365, Azure, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and Power Platform

  • Solid technical foundation in networking, server admin, virtualisation (Hyper-V), IAM/PAM, and endpoint security

  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, compliance frameworks, and regulated environments

  • Hands-on experience with automation, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills



Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Security Compliance, Server Hybrid Admin)

  • CompTIA (Network+, Security+, Server+)

  • Membership in a professional IT body (e.g. BCS, ISACA, (ISC)2, ITIL
