Apple SME

As the Apple Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be the technical authority for the macOS and iOS/iPadOS platforms within Barclays. You will lead the design, security, and strategic evolution of Apple devices across the global estate, ensuring they meet the high security and regulatory standards of a top-tier investment bank while delivering a "best-in-class" user experience for Barclays' colleagues.

• Act as the primary technical authority for the Apple ecosystem (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) across the bank.

• Define the Target State Architecture for Apple devices, aligning with Barclays' enterprise frameworks and the "GAIA" (Global Architecture & Infrastructure) objectives.

• Lead platform capability enhancements, including zero-touch deployment, managed app lifecycles, and OS update strategies.

• Own the technical design and configuration of Jamf Pro or Microsoft Intune for Apple device management.

• Manage and optimize Apple Business Manager (ABM) integrations for seamless device enrollment.

• Create and maintain configuration profiles, security baselines, and automated workflows to minimize manual intervention.

• Ensure all Apple solutions comply with Barclays' Cyber Security, Information Risk, and Audit requirements.

• Harden Apple devices against global banking threats using encryption (FileVault), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Conditional Access.

• Lead engagement with the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) to secure approval for new Apple hardware and software features.

• Ensure seamless interaction between Apple devices and core Barclays infrastructure (Identity/Okta, Network/VPN, and Collaboration tools like Slack and Google Workspace).

• Support Digital Workplace Transformation by designing "coexistence" strategies that allow Apple devices to function alongside legacy Windows environments.

• Apple Expert: Deep hands-on experience with macOS and iOS/iPadOS at an enterprise level.

• Management Tools: Mastery of Jamf Pro (policies, extension attributes, Jamf Connect) and/or Microsoft Intune.

• Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Zsh, or Python for automation and device customization.

• Apple Services: Strong knowledge of Apple Business Manager (ABM), APNs (Apple Push Notification service), and VPP (Volume Purchase Program).

• Financial Services: Proven experience managing Apple estates in a highly regulated global bank or similar environment.

• Large-Scale Delivery: Track record of delivering Apple-based projects within multi-million-pound transformation or carve-out programmes.

• Governance: Experience presenting technical designs to Architecture Review Boards and handling complex Risk/Compliance assessments.
