Configuration Engineer
Location: Southampton (remote with adhoc site visits)
Duration: 3 month contract
Rate: 40ph UMB (Inside IR35)
Role details:
Our client, a significant player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Configuration Engineer for a 3-month contract. The position is based in Southampton but offers mostly remote working with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Configuration and Data Management (CDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, AS, MoD JSPs).
- Provide guidance to support an integrated digital engineering environment and PLM adoption.
- Resolve technical, project, and programme conflicts related to CDM and PLM requirements and processes.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, customizations, and processes.
- Develop training materials, such as work instructions, guides, and presentation packs/videos to demonstrate PLM capabilities.
- Train end-users and support engineers in PLM (Teamcenter Unified) functionalities and best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Strong administration skills with an attention to detail and a logical mind-set.
- Good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57 and JSP945, EAI649C.
- Understanding of PLM principles and best practices, with experience in Teamcenter Unified preferred.
- Experience developing user guides and delivering user training on a PLM system, ideally Teamcenter Unified.
Desirable Skills:
- Strong understanding of Teamcenter architecture, modules, and functionalities.
