Configuration Management Engineer
Our client, a prominent organisation in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is pivotal in executing and supporting the Configuration Management (CM) activities for NPI and legacy programmes. As part of the team, you will work at Hamble and report to the Chief Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, communicate, and enhance configuration and data management processes for NPI and legacy programmes.
- Act as a key contact for configuration development, maintaining the change management process using PLM tools such as Teamcenter and 3DX.
- Organise and manage Change Control Boards (CCB), ensuring that Change Requests are reviewed, actions are documented, and resolutions are provided promptly.
- Issue Change Orders, release DFM and associated BOMs, and manage technical data and customer specifications within the internal PLM system.
- Maintain CM Key Performance Indicators to report health status and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to coordinate CM requirements for project deliverables.
- Support regulatory, customer, and internal CM process and data audits.
- Maintain compliance with CM tools, processes and procedures.
- Encourage best practices and provide technical support to Engineering IPT's.
- Support Design Quality requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Engineering or Technical degree (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to understand engineering design, drawings, and change processes.
- Experience in PLM tools and processes, preferably Teamcenter.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within complex engineering environments is advantageous.
- Experience in engineering BOM and Configuration processes within the product development landscape.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Teamcenter (Siemens) or similar PLM systems.
- Knowledge of Industry/Military standards related to Configuration Management, such as EIA649, ISO 10007, MIL-STD-973.
