Our client is a highly respected consultancy operating across defence, government, critical national infrastructure and commercial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join their expanding cyber capability team.
This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of security-focused projects, helping organisations identify, assess and manage cyber and information security risks across complex environments.
The Role
As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will support clients in understanding and mitigating cyber security risks across IT, OT and business systems. You'll work closely with stakeholders to deliver risk assessments, security assurance activities and resilience-focused programmes across a variety of challenging and high-profile projects.
Successful candidates may work across several specialist areas, including:
- Information Security and Risk Management
- Cyber Security Assurance
- Operational Technology (OT) Security
- Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Business and Operational Resilience
- Secure-by-Design Implementation
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security risk assessments within complex operational and technology environments
- Support clients in identifying, analysing and managing cyber security risks
- Deliver security assurance and governance activities aligned to recognised standards
- Provide cyber security advice across systems, networks and business processes
- Contribute to resilience planning, incident preparedness and recovery activities
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to communicate risks and recommendations effectively
- Support the development of secure and resilient solutions throughout project lifecycles
Essential Experience
- Experience delivering cyber security, information security or risk management activities
- Understanding of security risk assessment methodologies and risk management principles
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Strong communication, analytical and report-writing skills
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge and application of Secure by Design principles
- Experience working with ISO 27001, NIST or similar security frameworks
- Understanding of security assurance and compliance activities
- Familiarity with classified or highly regulated environments
- Experience within Defence, Government, Critical National Infrastructure, Nuclear or similarly regulated sectors
- Experience operating within multi-stakeholder project environments
- Knowledge of government security assurance frameworks
