DIG - Test & Acceptance Engineer
Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Test & Acceptance Engineer for a contract position based in Christchurch. This role is pivotal in supporting a fully integrated command and control system for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). This extensive systems and software programme encompasses numerous disciplines, including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training, and logistics support.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a set of tests proving the functionality of the system to be delivered
- Conduct testing activities throughout the product lifecycle
- Participate in customer-witnessed acceptance test events at customer sites
- Produce and update test reports and schedules
- Manage rig deployments, install patches, and manage configurations/test environments
- Clear defects
- Execute verification and validation processes
- Prepare to work away from home for short periods in MoD environments
Essential:
- Experience implementing test strategies
- Proficiency in non-functional and functional testing strategies and execution
- Experience with defect tracking tools
- SC clearance (Security Check)
Desirable:
- Experience with Windows operating systems, including Active Directory
- Basic networking knowledge
- DV clearance (Developed Vetting)
Essential:
- Previous experience in testing roles involving integration, regression, acceptance, and performance testing
- Capability to create test case definitions through requirements analysis
- Skilled in fault analysis and reporting to development teams
- Excellent communication skills for discussing issues with developers
Desirable:
- Previous participation in SAT (Site Acceptance Tests)
- Leading a test programme
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Command Prompt to run test scripts
Desirable:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification or equivalent
