Our client, a leading provider in the data centre sector, is currently seeking a M&E Data Centre Engineer to join their team in Fareham. This permanent role requires you to predominantly be on-site at the Fareham data centre, with occasional travel to the company's other data centres in the Southern region. You will work 12-hour shifts, operating on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, covering both days (6am - 6pm) and nights (6pm - 6am).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-fix support on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and minor fabric repairs
- Oversee and coordinate contractors, ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met
- Deliver small project works independently and as part of a team
- Offer technical guidance and supervision on larger tasks
- Contribute to reports and audits for the management team
- Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure timely updates across all systems
- Monitor systems, environment, and M&E infrastructure
- Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure facility upkeep and reliability
- Manage stock, assets, and critical spares within the data centre
- Escort and assist third-party vendors and engineers on-site
- Capture and maintain accurate asset data
- Support cross-connects, console access, and power verification activities
- Assist with rack installation, cabling, and hardware deployment
- Provide on-site remote hands/smart hands support for remote IT teams during incidents and requests
- Responsible for undertaking the duties of an LV Authorised person
- Handle confidential information and/or sensitive data in a professional manner
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer in a critical, industrial, or commercial environment
- Completed electrical apprenticeship or similar - ideally with 18th edition wiring regulations
- Basic IT skills, including Word and Excel
- Experience in L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems
- Currently hold or be able to obtain (eligible for) SC Clearance
