Mechanical & Electrical Engineer

Why Join Our Client?

Imagine working in an environment where your skills are continuously sharpened, your ideas are valued, and your career progression is actively funded. Our client is a leading name in data centre infrastructure, offering a unique blend of critical technical challenges and a remarkably supportive, family-like culture where more than half the team has stayed for over 5 years.

From day one, you will have access to on-the-job mentoring, external training, and an unlimited Udemy learning licence to help you master new technologies and elevate your career.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, no two days will be the same. You will be the backbone of the Data Centre site, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. This is a highly varied and dynamic role where you will mix hands-on M&E technical maintenance with crucial IT infrastructure support and contractor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Excellence: Monitor, maintain, and optimise critical site systems, environment, and M&E infrastructure. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to guarantee facility reliability.
  • First-Fix & Small Projects: Provide rapid first-fix support on M&E systems and minor fabric repairs, whilst independently delivering small-scale project works.
  • Safety & Authority: Act as the Low Voltage (LV) Authorised Person on-site-planning, documenting, and safely executing electrical works with strict adherence to protocols.
  • Contractor & Project Supervision: Oversee and coordinate third-party vendors and engineers, providing technical guidance on larger, complex infrastructure tasks.
  • Smart Hands IT Support: Bridge the gap between M&E and IT by assisting remote tech teams with hardware installs, cable management, reboots, and connectivity checks.
  • Operations & Audit: Manage the ticketing system efficiently, capture precise asset data, and contribute to vital management reports and site audits.

Who We Are Looking For

You are a proactive, solution-oriented engineer who thrives in a critical environment. You pride yourself on high standards of safety and love the challenge of keeping critical operations running flawlessly.

Essential Criteria:

  • A multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with experience in critical, industrial, or commercial environments.
  • A completed electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent), ideally backed by 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Comfortable with basic IT skills (including MS Word and Excel).
  • Eligible for, or currently holding, National Security Clearance (SC Clearance).
  • Flexibility to provide holiday and overtime cover to support your team when needed.

If you have experience in any of the following, we want to hear about it:

  • LV switching & UPS Circuitry
