Are you an Infrastructure Engineer with a passion for DevOps, automation, and secure, reliable systems? We're looking for a proactive and collaborative DevOps Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Bristol. This is a hybrid role with no on-call requirements and the opportunity to shape infrastructure within an evolving environment.

- Building and deploying new virtual domain infrastructure, servers, and development environments
- Automating and improving development, release, and operational processes
- Maintaining best-practice configurations and security baselines to protect against cyber threats
- Troubleshooting and delivering timely fixes, patches, and updates
- Working closely with software developers and engineers to ensure smooth, reliable delivery
- Developing and maintaining robust security controls
- Creating clear technical documentation and supporting knowledge sharing
- Collaborating across IT to support infrastructure projects
- Reporting key information to stakeholders to support informed business decisions
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who thrives on problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement. You should be able to:
- Analyse and evaluate data objectively and quickly
- Identify trends, risks, and recommended mitigations
- Think critically about solutions and communicate them effectively
- Develop new ideas and approaches
- Work with openness, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence
On the technical side, you'll need:
- Experience in infrastructure engineering within a corporate or DevOps environment
- Strong skills across Windows and Linux systems
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware or Nutanix)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory
- Cybersecurity experience is an advantage (but not essential)
- Defence experience not required — this is a hands-on, accessible role within a supportive team
You're approachable, adaptable, and comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders. You know how to stay calm under pressure, accept feedback, and communicate constructively. You enjoy being part of a team but can work independently when needed.
Security Requirements
In line with ESUK's Baseline Security standards, you'll need to provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK. You must also be eligible for SC Clearance.
If you're looking for a role where you can influence infrastructure direction, work with a supportive team, and develop your DevOps skill set, we'd love to hear from you.
