Mobile App Developer (.NET MAUI)
A contract position Outside IR35
Hybrid - 1-2 days on site.
Our client is seeking a Mobile App Developer with expertise in .NET MAUI for a fixed-term contract role. This position is crucial in maintaining and advancing existing mobile applications that support vehicle telematics systems, which provide valuable insights for insurers and fleet operators to enhance road safety and driving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and extend existing .NET MAUI mobile apps
- Implement planned features and bug fixes in MAUI and XAML
- Build and evolve user interfaces that align with established mobile UI patterns
- Collaborate with the backend team to define changes to supporting REST APIs
- Diagnose and resolve issues in live apps on iOS and Android
- Take responsibility for the build and submission process for the App Store and Google Play
- Write clear, maintainable code that supports collaboration
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Work with product and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and agree on practical solutions
Job Requirements:
- Production experience with .NET MAUI mobile apps, including diagnosing and fixing live issues
- Strong C# and .NET skills; comfortable working in an established codebase
- Solid understanding of XAML, MVVM, and common iOS/Android platform constraints
- Hands-on experience releasing apps to the App Store and Google Play
- Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience working in an agile team
- Excellent communication skills to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Pragmatic approach with good judgement on when something is 'good enough'
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Vehicle tracking, Fleet tracking, Blackbox Insurance
- Experience with Xamarin.Forms
- Awareness of backend domain code and business logic
- Knowledge of vehicle insurance telematics or fleet management
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using SQLite or other local mobile storage solutions
- Familiarity with push notifications and background services on iOS and Android
