Rate: Up to 550/day (Umbrella)

Clearance: BPSS to start (SC required for the role)

Overview

A leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex IT infrastructure projects within a critical national infrastructure environment. This contract role will involve leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project governance and ensuring successful delivery to time, cost and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, budget, manage, report on and deliver allocated IT infrastructure projects into service.
  Develop and maintain project plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, resource requirements and delivery milestones.
  Lead virtual and multidisciplinary teams through matrix management, including Work Package Managers and Project Delivery Team members.
  Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and mitigation actions in line with appropriate governance processes.
  Ensure projects comply with relevant regulatory, safety, environmental, health and security requirements.
  Manage suppliers, contracts and project deliverables in collaboration with Commercial, Supply Chain and Legal teams.
  Build effective relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators, internal stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
  Act as the key interface for projects, communicating progress and ensuring strategic decisions are identified and managed through to completion.

Skillset/experience required:

• Significant experience in project management, preferably within IT infrastructure, defence, security or another regulated environment.
  A recognised project management qualification, such as APM PMQ, APM or an equivalent qualification.
  Experience delivering and integrating complex projects from planning through to implementation and operational handover.
  Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, financial control, risk management and benefits delivery.
  Experience managing commercial relationships with customers and suppliers, including contract performance and deliverables.
  Demonstrable ability to lead multidisciplinary and virtual teams in a matrix environment.
  Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
