Project Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager with five or more years of experience within financial services or the hedge fund sector. This role is responsible for the strategic delivery of a diverse portfolio of IT initiatives, ranging from regulatory compliance programs to complex technology rollouts and operational workflow optimisations.
Reporting to the Project Management Team Lead, the successful candidate will serve as a critical liaison between functional business units and technical teams, ensuring all projects align with firm-wide objectives and rigorous quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Governance: Direct the full project lifecycle from initiation through to post-implementation review, ensuring all deliverables meet established timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Stakeholder Orchestration: Partner with cross-departmental leads in Trading, Investment, Legal, Risk, and Finance to translate high-level business requirements into comprehensive project plans.
- Methodology & Execution: Apply professional project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid) to manage multi-disciplinary teams and maintain momentum across complex workflows.
- Communication & Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior executive stakeholders, providing transparent reporting on project health, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Operational Excellence: Oversight of procurement, software/hardware deployments, and office buildouts, while consistently identifying opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains.
- Documentation & Standards: Contribute to the institutional knowledge base by maintaining robust SOPs, project documentation, and post-project evaluation reports.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5+ years of project management experience within a fast-paced financial services environment (Hedge Fund or Asset Management preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of enterprise project management tools, specifically Jira and Monday.com .
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex technical information into clear, actionable briefings for non-technical senior leadership.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional organisational skills, an analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality outputs under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification is highly desirable.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the trading lifecycle, financial operations, and IT infrastructure.
- Emerging Tech: Exposure to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions within a corporate framework.
- Fiscal Oversight: Experience in budget management, resource forecasting, and vendor sourcing.
