Requirements & Certification Systems Engineer
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Requirements & Certification Systems Engineer for their DragonFire programme. This permanent role involves working on a groundbreaking weapon system development programme that has garnered significant industry and customer engagement.
The opportunity:
The DragonFire programme is focused on developing the UK's first Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) concept demonstrator. Following several highly publicised successful trials, our client is looking for motivated individuals to continue developing this into a world-class, deployable LDEW air defence system. This includes opportunities across systems engineering domains: requirements, design, performance analysis, and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing, specifying, and justifying requirements
- Proving systems, ensuring design assurance, and achieving certification
- Developing sophisticated defence systems
- Understanding user requirements and working with design authorities to meet needs and constraints
- Supporting functional design with requirement flow down through system/sub-system/equipment
- Collaborating effectively with customers, key stakeholders, team members, and other departments
- Using system architecting tools such as DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody
- Solving complex problems and supporting technical mediation
Job Requirements:
- Experience in requirements analysis, systems proving, design assurance, and certification
- Understanding of user requirements and design constraints
- Proficiency in system architecting tools (e.g., DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively at all levels
- Delivery-focused attitude
- Proven ability to develop excellent working relationships
- Experience in the defence sector is desirable
