Senior Procurement Specialist
A well-known public sector organisation are currently seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support a series of high-priority operational technology programmes for a major emergency-services organisation.
- Role: Senior Procurement & Contracts Specialist
- Duration: 6-month contract
- Pay: Up to £500 p/day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
- Location: London (1/2 days onsite)
This is a unique role leading end-to-end procurement and managing key technology and operational contracts within the organisation, specifically supporting projects and systems used in control room / operational / blue-light environments.
End-to-End Procurement Delivery:
- Lead full-cycle procurement for three key operational technology initiatives
- Lead full procurement lifecycle from strategy and market engagement through to tendering and contract award.
- Managing stakeholder engagement across operations, ICT, control centre teams, and senior leadership.
- Developing commercial models, evaluation criteria, and negotiation approaches.
- Producing high-quality procurement documentation and supporting business cases.
- Ensuring a smooth transition from procurement to contract mobilisation.
Commercial & Contract Management:
- Provide commercial oversight and contract management for three core operational systems.
- Managing contract variations, extensions, and commercial negotiations.
- Monitoring supplier performance and compliance through regular commercial review meetings.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation, service improvement, and cost optimisation.
- Maintaining accurate contract documentation and governance records.
You'll be supporting frontline operations through technology that directly enables effective emergency response.
Key Requirements:
- MCIPS / CIPS level 5 qualified
- Strong experience in public sector procurement (end to end) and commercial contract management.
- Experience in central government or similar environments
- Experience with Fire, Police, Ambulance, Home Office, or safety-critical systems
- Exposure to control-room technology modernisation or transformation programmes
- Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-stakeholder procurement's and manage supplier performance.
- Able to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently with strong documentation and communication skills.
The role is ideal for someone who has unique experience with blue-light technology, command & control platforms, operational systems, ESN/ESMCP, or safety-critical environments.
