Senior Software Engineer


Our client, a leading entity in the automotive sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Banbury, UK. This role involves the continuous delivery of in-house software, prioritising requirements within the wider Performance Group to ensure agile delivery of high-quality software across the organisation.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications across all departments.
  • Use a range of .Net technologies to develop modern database, service layer, and client application solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide coaching to software team members.
  • Prioritise requirements in collaboration with the Head of Software Engineering.
  • Ensure project delivery is on schedule, reporting any challenges or potential delays.
  • Mentor and contribute to the development of engineers within the Software Group.
  • Integrate with third party vendors as required.
  • Propose and maintain an evolving software architecture for long-term progress.
  • Ensure code clarity and simplicity for robustness and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance version control, continuous integration, and testing processes.
  • Improve the DevOps environment to increase the delivery rate of high-quality products.
  • Keep abreast of new techniques, languages, and tools as required.
  • Respond promptly to user support requests according to priority.
  • Provide race support on a rotational basis.
  • Adhere to all engineering and business processes, as well as safety regulations.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in developing complex data management and database storage solutions.
  • Experience with .Net technologies and associated languages.
  • Required skills: C#, .NET, WPF, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, Blazor would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High standard of work in stressful and time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment at all personnel levels.
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM field with substantial experience in software development.
