An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a growing Systems team, leading complex space missions from LEO to GEO and beyond. This role offers full cradle-to-grave mission involvement, from concept and bid support through AIT, launch, commissioning, and operations - providing the chance to see your work delivered to space on a rapid timescale.

The role requires full on-site working initially. Once established, there may be the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week, subject to business and project needs.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system engineering activities across all project phases, from requirements through operations

  • Perform system-level design of space and ground segments, including mission analysis and trade-offs

  • Support bid and tender activities, working closely with Sales and Engineering teams

  • Manage requirements, interfaces, verification, validation, and test planning

  • Lead or support technical studies, cost/risk/schedule trades, and reviews

  • Act as a technical focal point for assigned mission products

  • Interface with customers and internal stakeholders at all project stages

  • Mentor junior engineers and review technical work

  • Manage subcontractors, work packages, and system-level documentation



Required Experience

  • Experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer (ideally 7+ years' experience)

  • Proven cradle-to-grave mission design experience

  • Strong background in requirements and verification management

  • Experience designing space and ground segments to subsystem level

Desirable:

  • Spacecraft-level verification testing

  • In-orbit commissioning and spacecraft operations experience



Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics (or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of orbit analysis, RF links, system budgets, ground segment, and space environments

  • Experience with STK, MATLAB, MS Office, and planning tools

  • Knowledge of FMECA and FDIR

  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing and AIT methods

  • Excellent technical writing, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills

  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to deliver under pressure
